Project Started in November 2016 Project Details The Songa Commune of the Bururi Province in Burundi has very limited clean water resources. Currently the local inhabitants walk significant distances to obtain water from small springs and water pools that are not clean. The project will consist of one 1.2 liter-per-second source and collection chamber and connect to two ten-cubic-meter and three five-cubic-meter tank. Fourteen tap stands will be distributed over 6.4 kilometers of pipeline. The tap stands (fountains) will provide access to the clean water source. Throughout the entire project, the pipeline will be buried below ground. Tap stands will include appropriate drainage. The project will serve approximately 3,450 people from the surrounding population. To view history on all Gazelle Foundation water systems, visit HERE.
