You Run. We Dig.

You Run. We Dig.

Run for the Water 10-Miler, 5K and Kids K is one of Austin’s most popular road races. Race date: Nov 3, 2019.

Participants help provide better health to an impoverished community and participate in a scenic race at the same time.

Each registration in the 10-Miler or 5K, directly funds sustainable water systems in Burundi. Due to the unique nature of the Foundation’s structure and in-country partners, the cost to build water systems is lower than average. The Gazelle Foundation is a certified 501(c)3.

That means when you run you ensure one more person in Burundi access to clean drinking water for the rest of his or her life.

We are incredibly proud of our track record of success in Burundi. Working in a single, small country means it’s easy to track the long-term impact of a water system.  You make this work possible. Thank you for being part of our mission.

TO DATE:

  • 52 completed water systems

  • 100,000+ people with access to clean water daily (official= 104,000)

  • 157 miles of hand–trenched pipeline, that now carries water

  • Water is available for free to all people regardless of the person’s tribe or religion

  • 6,400 people received access to clean water from last year’s race.

We can’t wait to see what happens Nov. 3, 2019!

Hear Gilbert Tuhabonye share the story behind the Gazelle Foundation and its mission. While Gilbert’s story includes great tragedy, it is also one of faith, hope, and resilience. He is living proof that one person can make the world a better, more compassionate place, and that love really does conquer all evil.
