Announcing Next Water Project: Kanyinya-Nyagihotora Water System

Construction of our latest project is set to begin.

Construction of the Kanyinya-Nyagihotora water system, a 11.05km (6.867 miles) project is about to begin. When complete 3,000 people will have daily access to water, including students and teachers at two different schools, a church, and a health center.

Access to clean water creates new opportunities and changes the trajectory of every person in the community. That’s what we mean when we say clean water transforms lives. 16 weeks of work by local contractors in Burundi and the support of people just like you are what it takes to make this project a reality.

The Project, located in the Rutundwe Colline of the Songa Commune, refurbishes a non-functioning water system and then adds 11 tap stands. The original system had an inadequate water supply, it was constructed by a different entity approximately 10 years ago.

The project will take approximately 16 weeks to complete. Map of area where water system is located.

The Kanyina-Nyagihotora water project is engineered with three water sources combining for a flow rate appropriate for the system. When complete the total number of tap stands for the residents will go from zero to eighteen. All previously existing tap stands will be tested and made functional before the water system is considered complete. None of this would be possible without the generous support of people like you.
