Run For Clean Water Wherever You Are
The 2020 Run For The Water will be entirely virtual. The City of Austin has extended its orders to limit gatherings to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 through mid-December. While we will miss seeing you along our beautiful race course, our primary concern is keeping our participants, volunteers, staff and vendors safe.
We invite you to participate in the Global Run For The Water, a virtual 10-Miler, 5K and Kids K that can be run, jogged or walked from any location anywhere on the globe. Choose your own starting line, whether it’s on a treadmill or on a neighborhood street. You can run for clean water wherever you are! We hope this means many more people can attend our events from the comfort and safety of their homes and neighborhoods, near and far.
Event Details
Global Run for the Water will kick off on October 30, 2020.
Step 1: Register for the Global Run For The Water. Your confirmation email will contain links for you to create your virtual bib and a link to submit your results.
Step 2: Run or walk your 5K or 10-Mile, any route you choose, any time between October 30 and November 8, 2020.
Step 3: Submit your results by November 10 and create your virtual finisher's certificate.
Step 4: Receive your 2020 Run For The Water Race Participant T-shirt by mail. More goodies and details to come!
This year’s event will feature programming for athletes of all levels, adults, corporate teams, young adults, middle-grade students, and children. We have some exciting new ways to support your training, create community, and provide incentives along the way to keep you motivated toward achieving your training goal. While we will miss seeing you along the beautiful race course, we know that our mission of bringing together runners and supporters to challenge themselves while providing clean water is, in some ways, more important than ever.
Even though the race is virtual, your support of clean water is very, very real. Now more than ever, people in Burundi need access clean water as the first line of defense against COVID-19. Your race registration ensures that we can continue to provide that access to the people who need it the most.
