Take Action By Becoming a Run For The Water Ambassador
Each year an amazing team of people helps others learn about the race and our mission by becoming Run For The Water Ambassadors. They make a direct impact by recruiting more runners and sponsors for the race, and most of all, by creating awareness for the urgent need of clean water in Burundi.

Here’s Why I Like Run For The Water road race.
In one simple word, the answer is humanity. I am a woman of color, and I am an immigrant. I think beyond borders and globally in my mind and want to show up for people that are less privileged!
I ran Run For The Water for the first time in 2015, and my older daughter ran the Kids K. At the time, I didn’t know much about the work Gazelle Foundation was doing in Burundi, Africa! As I learned more about it over the years, I became more and more attracted to the mission of the Foundation!
Growing up in India, I didn’t have immediate access to clean water, so to some extent, I can relate with the people of Burundi. It’s a challenge to walk miles every day to get water and then to boil it to disinfect for proper use!
My mom always taught me to dream big. To learn from the people who are doing “more” BUT also ALWAYS show up for the less fortunate! I am here to encourage you to do something for the people of Burundi today. Let’s show up for them and restore their faith in humanity. We need your support, whether that’s by donating to the Gazelle Foundation or better yet, run the 5K, 10-miler or the Kids K! There’s a distance for EVERYONE. Let us know how we can help you get to the start line! We are all in this TOGETHER!
