It is hard enough to be a student, but its infinitely harder without clean water. 650 Students at Rubanga School know this well. The number one issue is that their grades have dropped because students miss class because they have to collect water, and second students are getting sick from intestinal parasites from drinking unsafe water from the primary source. But thanks to supporters like you, students like Adronis Niyonsaba (pictured above), will get access to all the clean, safe water he need. Adronis is studying science research with the dream of being a teacher someday.
"Life has been paralyzed due to the hardships of getting the water because we are meeting so many people along the way and due to long lines from the students, neighbors, etc, we go to get water without knowing how long it will take. Once we get there, there is no cutting corners, it is first come first served, and this cuts the time we should be studying. It’s about a mile each way, come down empty buckets, climb back up with full water buckets."
