One of our newest supporters, Jorge Matamoros, is taking part in the Austin Marathon Gives program this year, raising funds by giving miles – and water – to those that need it most in Burundi. Jorge is a first-generation American from El Paso, Texas and is running his first marathon this month. He calls the Gazelle Foundation an “easy choice” to support.
I am passionate about using my virtues & strengths to empower others and help them become the best versions of themselves. I do this through creating hard goals for myself, and sharing my process of achieving them in a relatable way...I will keep the thousands of people that will benefit from this cause in my mind upon every stride until I get to the finish line.
ABOUT AUSTIN MARATHON GIVES
The Austin Marathon Gives program presented by the Moody Foundation connects non-profit organizations to passionate race participants—like Jorge—willing to fundraise and raise awareness for causes that give back. Jorge selected Gazelle Foundation to run with to add even more meaning to his training and race day miles.
The Moody Foundation generously matches all funds raised by Jorge up to $10,000.00.
The Gazelle Foundation is excited to cheer Jorge on! Our amazing volunteers will be working water stop mile 11 to help cheer him on! Want to volunteer?
Gazelle Foundation is honored to once again be a part of the Austin Marathon Gives program. Since its inception 7 years ago, the program’s charitable donations have raised $3,893,298 for Central Texas charities.
